We are situated approximately 30 kms from Whangarei in the Pataua North village and just across the road from the Pataua Estuary. We are ideally situated to cater for outdoor and coastal acitivites including sheltered swimming in the estuary and surfing at the oceanside.
You can reach Pataua via Whareora Road, or Glenbervie Harris Road. (North side). You can also get to Pataua via Parua Bay (South side) which entails a short walk across the footbridge.
Features include the Pataua River and the Parawanui South side beach which is a 2 1/2 kilometre walk. There is an abundance of natural history and sea life, all providing excellent opportunities for education and fun activities. These include beach walks, rock pool exploration, seafood gathering, local history, swimming and water sports.
Surfing lessons, organised walks, snorkelling activities and kayaking can be arranged to cater for school camps as a group rotational activity.
